My students have had limited access to STEM activities because they were online in first grade and hybrid in second grade. We have been in the classroom for the majority of time this year and our class is excitedly waiting for more resources to explore coding. This project will give these children a creative and hands on way to solve algorithms and learn programing which is part of the new computer science standards. Not only will students be learning how to program and create algorithms, they will be given crucial opportunities to develop social skills by working collaboratively with partners to identify steps needed to solve problems. These robots will excite my students about the possibilities of technology and give them resources to be successful in our ever changing technological world.
