Books inspire us, motivate us, encourage us and illuminate our lives. They are full of knowledge and keep our brains healthy and fit. The books I am requesting, will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create and support the required curriculum for 6th grade ELA in my district. My school is a Title I school with 80% of our students receiving free and reduced price lunch. Most cannot afford basic school supplies much less the books they want and need to read. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student knowledge and comprehension, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. You will also give my students increase vocabulary development, improve their attention span, and give wings to their imaginations.
