If you give a first grader a book, they just might start to read. And when they start to read, the rest will fall into place. As a beginning teacher, you can imagine that my classroom library is not overflowing with leveled readers for my students to read. A huge portion of our morning instructional time is dedicated to reading. A great way to target differentiated learning is through leveled readers. The students in my classroom have a range of different reading levels. Things get hectic when we have several students that are on the same level because we don't have enough books to serve those students. Having these books in my classroom will help all students in my classroom this year and every year following learn to love reading!
