When the early childhood special education program at my school was started one year ago, a generous grant was provided by the state. By the time curriculum and testing supplies were purchased though, there were very little funds left for the basic necessities of a classroom. As I continue to add valuable classroom materials and items, we have begun to run into the issue of not having enough room to store things. At this time, I don't feel I can add any additional supplies to the classroom because there is truly no place to put them. These two shelves will give my students the organization they need, as well as allow for additional storage so I can bring in more classroom materials and supplies that will enrich the learning experience for each student. In addition, the shelving I'm using now are cheap, plastic shelves that are meant to be collapsable, which pose a safety risk to my young students. Obtaining nice, sturdy shelves will not only provide storage and organization but will also be much safer when students need to remove or add things to them.
