I teach special education to K-6 graders. It has been one of my greatest joys. I teach some of the smartest, bravest, funniest, and authentic children, around. They have taught me the power of resilience. They teach me every day to listen better, understand more and dream big. My students come from a diverse community filled with over twenty languages spoken around them, and some of whom have learned two languages (what?) these kids are amazing. My students come to a school that has limited resources, but expansive opportunity from the school community. My students know daily how they inspire me, and I'm lucky to know them all. I have taken a former locker room and turned it into an HGTV dream, if you ever need to turn a locker room into a classroom, I've got you. The school is 103 years old and radiators leak, and windows are stuck shut, but it's the kids that keep me coming back.
