Ukuleles will help motivate students to learn how to play an instrument, continue to sing, and build confidence. Students will learn to play chords, read rhythms, and sing with good vocal technique. Ukuleles are fun, easy to play, and great for group or solo performances. Considering the recent events of COVID-19, students will have reduced access to learning about wind instruments (for their safety). Ukulele's will help fill that void in their musical training. Students will be motivated because Ukulele's lend themselves to learning contemporary, classical, and jazz music. The variety of musical choices will engage different types of learners with varying interests. The ukulele is a great teaching tool for a multicultural curriculum which is extremely important during these challenging times.
