Young students internalize mathematical concepts best and develop a deeper understanding when they have multiple opportunities to work with a variety of manipulatives within the classroom. Using the math tools I've chosen, along with the lessons I'll be able to get through Teachers Pay Teachers, will allow my students to be actively engaged throughout the learning process. This high level of engagement among my students will help them make the most gains academically. As a teacher it it my desire for each child in my classroom to know their value. By having access to many book that show children from various ethinic groups and cultures, my students will be able to see students who look like them in the books they read. As students read about children who have things in common with them, they will make connections that lead to better comprehension and develop a greater love of reading all while realizing they are unique and valuable to our classroom!
