My students participate in a District-wide reading program called the "SLAM Showcase": the Student Literacy and Media Showcase. Together and independently, we read the state award books and students respond to their favorite books through a 2D art project or digital media trailer. This project will help me obtain multiple copies of the state award "SLAM" books so that we have enough to share. I encourage the reading of these books not only through the SLAM projects but also through weekly lunch bunches and interactive literacy lessons. We love reading...we love SLAM books!
