I am requesting books and art supplies for lessons that will help me incorporate multicultural awareness, inclusion, equality, acceptance, courage, and kindness into the art curriculum. My goal is to teach acceptance and understanding of our differences while also teaching students to be proud of themselves. I want my students to learn that we are all different shades and hues of brown. I talk about many different artists throughout the year. My students need to hear more stories and see more art work by female and African American artists. I want all of my amazing artists to feel pride when they create a self-portrait or a family portrait that is an accurate representation of themselves. This project will help my students become better artists who take pride in themselves and help make the world a better place!
