The move to expand our student support team to an additional classroom means our self-contained classroom can be fully built and our third graders can finally have a space of their own! No more groups in the hall, stuck in a corner of the computer lab, or scrounging for a spare table! We are so fortunate to be given this extra space to call our own and the learning that will occur there is going to be unparalleled. What, without all the distractions, how can it not be?! Unfortunately, with Tennessee’s education system largely funded by sales taxes and closures with COVID-19 decimating the local economy, we have little extra money to outfit this amazing space despite tons of potential. Being able to establish a Secure, Accessible, Fun, Educational (SAFE) classroom is paramount as our school adjusts to meet the range of learners in our building. We are committed to always doing what’s right for our scholars, but we need some help getting our SAFE space set up physically so the magic of learning can truly begin!
