As the pandemic is upon us, I have researched the needs of my students to master fifth grade science standards, I was amazed at the many simple experiments that students should be exposed to enhance the already established science curriculum. The use of common household items along with special tools and equipment would bring science to life for students. For instance, using ping pong balls and a hair dryer to demonstrate low air pressure or using a raw egg, boiled egg(boiled in small pot of water and hot plate) to demonstrate friction/inertia. I would demonstrate these labs remotely, one per week. Students will be encouraged to try the labs at home with their parents.
