Students are changing, their needs are changing, and the way they learn is changing (including how they are seated in the classroom). In our class, we use tables with traditional chairs for core instruction. When we move to learning centers we mix in crate seating, rug seating, and cushion seating. With more flexible seating students will be able to make their own choices of where they would like to sit and I believe this teaches not only power of choice but also builds confidence as students are in charge of their own learning space. These wobble chairs give students the freedom to wiggle while remaining focused on their learning. Our class will use these Wobble Stools at our two small group tables during Math and Literacy time. Our small group instruction time is one of the most important times of the day for these kiddos as this is when they receive direct instruction tailored for their individual needs to help them blossom into the very best version of themselves!
