The Individual lap desks I am requesting will allow me the opportunity to place my student workspace purposefully around our classroom to meet the proper social distancing requirements. They will also encourage each student to enjoy their environment with fun, flexible seating, instead of being expected to sit in a desk-like station all day, to ensure limited contact with others. These desks will be utilized for independent seat work, differentiated center stations, and student storage—as well as serve as an individual student station as we manage distant/flexible guided reading groups. Additionally, these desks will also be an easy way to add seating for new students who return to our brick & mortar classroom from a temporary virtual setting. Overall, these individual plastic work spaces will be a safe, flexible, classroom tool that can easily be cleaned and kept sanitized, while providing each student a personal space to call their own.
