Reading is a hard subject to teach. I teach 5th grade, however, not all students are reading at a 5th grade level. In any classroom, I can have one student reading at a high school level, and one student still at a kindergarten reading level. All students read at different rates, and need different levels of help. Headphones would be so helpful to allow students to be able to read Audiobooks. I set up my classroom into groups where students are rotated into a teacher group where we can read with students, and then audiobook, and independent stations. I am finding that my students can't always afford their own headphones so a class set is necessary. With the virus, I am not sure how exactly it will be going back into the classroom. However, I do know that headphones can be cleaned and better taken care of than earbuds. That is why I think this will be extremely helpful to me and my students.
