This sensory room will be used for special education students with sensory needs to make it through their school day. Sensory items are beneficial for students with disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder and ADD and/or ADHD. Students with these disabilities rely heavily on using sensory items to help with stimulation throughout their school day. The sensory room will provide a break for students who are over-stimulated in the classroom setting and need a place to regroup. Items in the sensory room such as the light filters will help provide a calming environment as well as items to help with calming strategies to be able to return to the classroom.
