Our crew is beginning to explore mathematical concepts like weight, volume, and measurement and need hands-on centers to experience, understand, and apply their knowledge! Balances, weights, and capacity containers will allow students to explore concepts of measurement off the page! They'll get to test their thinking, and build their scientific reasoning through hypothesizing the outcomes and using trial and error to test their ideas. The fraction manipulatives will help students unlock a world of conceptual understanding, being able to compose, compare, and order fractions on the number line - a critical skill for accessing higher level math concepts and applying to their everyday lives (and in our Expedition on Cooking Science!) Additional materials and games will keep students engaged, cooperating, and practicing their math even during indoor recess.
