Most of my students are English language learners therefore I use guided reading with my small group in order to close the gap in reading. It’s very important to me that my students become successful readers before they leave first grade so they will not struggle in second. With the leveled readers they will be able to be engaged at home in reading which will help them get stronger. Once school starts I will be able to help my students by getting them to read at their level. That’s what’s important to me.
