The pandemic has impacted the way students learn and has hindered the students' opportunities to have hands-on learning experiences. The materials I have selected will help to support STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) in and out of the classroom. My students will be able to explore and fulfill their curiosities. These materials will support critical thinking, problem-solving, and will guide my students to become community contributors. STEAM and project-based learning brings rigor and relevance to the classroom and will prepare my students for real-world situations. Learning can also take us outside with a mobile STEAM cart I am planning to put together. Our school is surrounded by beautiful nature and I envision our classroom going beyond our classroom walls. For example, observing the fauna and flora on campus and exploring ways to protect them. These materials are a great start to taking learning to the next level.
