Our school district is located in rural southwest Florida. This is a community built around agriculture, specifically orange groves and sugar cane fields. Most of our student body are first generation Americans having immigrated from Mexico with their families in search of seasonal agricultural work. These students are our future and need to understand the basics of our government in order to support our future. Providing them with their own copy of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution will provide them a link to their country and foster awareness and care in how the future is planned and experienced.

About my class
