I am requesting these guide books to keep me on the forefront of the ever-changing educational field. I am moving to second grade, from third grade, and need to be prepared in emergent literacy for new readers. Third grade is a shift from "learning to read" to "reading to learn". With that epic shift coming in a few short months, I would love to have the tools necessary to give my students every bit of support that I can. The books I am requesting are incredible and offer some of the most detailed strategies for every stage of reader, and will allow me to differentiate my lessons for all levels of learners! They not only show strategies, but provide examples of anchor charts, step by step instructions, and also offer other resources that would further develop that particular skill. With reading, comes writing. This book goes hand in hand with the Guided Reading book. It is written by the same author and follows the same helpful steps from basic skills to more advanced skills. Differentiation is key to having successful students!
