From kindergarten to fifth grade my students are of all ages and abilities. They put a smile on my face because of the silly things they say or the cute pictures they draw (like the one above). Even in hard times like these it is more important than ever to stay connected and provide support, direction, and a listening ear to these small souls. It makes me happy when I can put a smile on their face. The drawing above is from a very young boy, his favorite book is Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See. After he requested that book he requested the brown bear song as well, and he was excited to draw a picture about what he read. After this picture I told him what a great artist he is and his whole face just light up. He was eager to draw more and he smiled more as he kept drawing. It is moments like these that keep me going and kids like these too.
