My students are learning to be life long readers! Help me create a listen to reading center in our classroom. The purpose of the listen to reading center is to create a space where struggling readers can listen to books that are at, or above their current reading level. Students will have an audio copy and a hard copy of the book they are reading. They will be able to listen to the reader and follow along with the words as the story is read aloud. Listening to reading, while reading helps students build confidence in their own reading skills. This project will also help students who are currently reading at or above grade level by encouraging them to listen to books slightly above their reading level. It will allow them to hear how great readers read aloud. A listening to reading center also encourages students to listen to books that are outside of their normal interests. It will help teach them to enjoy reading in a new way. I want all of my students to become life long learners and reading is one of the best ways to do that. I want to teach all of my students about the joy of reading by teaching them that there is more than one way to enjoy a book. Help me transform all of my students into to life long readers by funding my listen to reading center. Thank you!
