My students struggled at their home schools and typically read below grade-level. I was given old library books from a middle school being demolished (sweet gesture, but the books are not current and not of interest to them). I'm looking to increase reading in my classroom with both fiction and non-fiction titles. My students do not enjoy forced reading (reading the same book as a class), so I hope to build a current library in my room to promote choice in reading. I want to give my students a variety of titles to look at when discussing different writing styles.
