After school gets out on May 21st, my students will have to return their iPads back to the school. This is what they have been primarily using during the school closures this month, so I want to give them an opportunity to continue their learning over the summer. These materials will help the students from getting behind before going to second grade. One activity, my students love is STEM boxes. So giving them their own set of legos will allow them to continue this STEM-related activity at home. The workbooks and writing journals will allow them to continue practicing their skills over summer. Every good writer and reader needs their own set of crayons and pencils. Many of my students do not have these available at home. They will use both the crayons and pencils to complete their workbooks and continue to become illustrators and authors like we did every day. I am broken-hearted that this is how the end of this year has looked. I was looking forward to seeing my students and sending them off to second grade with hugs and smiles. Please help me give them these gifts as a way to remind them how much they are loved and cared for during such an uncertain time.
