Astronomy is the branch of science which deals with celestial objects, space, and the physical universe as a whole. This telescope will allow students to navigate the sky and beyond while utilizing tools astronomers use when studying space. Students will be able to apply what they have learned throughout their research as they use a telescope to navigate space. For many of my students, this astronomy class is their first time being exposed to the study of space, stars, and other celestial objects. I would love to see the look on my students' faces when they see Saturn's rings for the first time, excitedly identify constellations, or pinpoint star clusters. Having a telescope accessible in our school will encourage students to further their own research as they become exposed firsthand to the magnificence of space.
