I am requesting collaboration tables to allow my students to be in a comfortable seating arrangement that allows for diverse conversations as we explore the natural world of science. My students will be coming to me without the full science classroom experiences they normally have in fourth grade due to the current changes in this year's school situation. The students are required to take their first state science exam during 5th grade, and it is not an easy task for them. I would like to give them the opportunity to work together without wasting critical instructional time. The transition of moving from desks to collaboration groups is time-consuming, and we have no time to waste. Hands-on lessons are crucial, and the collaboration tables would be a dream come true for my students. They would allow me to pull out equipment that is not being moved from desk to desk, knowing that the risk of damage is much less when students are seated around a large table. Tables would allow students to collaborate with each other without the restrictions or obstacles that desks normally create. We are currently a bottom 300 school in our state with all our students on free breakfast and lunch. We are aiming for the stars with our academics and would love your assistance. Your donation would go toward buying 6-person group tables for my science classroom that will see 60 students a day at our Title I school.
