My dual-language preschool students are from a low socio-economic background already struggling with economic distress due to Covid-19. I usually provide my students with open-ended materials to work with while creating objectives with all subject matter throughout the entire school year. They are a very popular with my students in the past 10 years because they are so engaging and maintains their interest for a long period of time. These magna-tiles will allow my students to engage in activities from home, allowing them to use them creatively supporting their social/emotional health as well as academic skills such as language development, math and science. These materials will make a difference in my students' learning process because they are open-ended which they can use and manipulate in many ways through many subject matters. Each student will be able to work from home using concrete materials rather than manipulating pictures abstractly during remote learning. Although we will be meeting virtually, my students will be engaging with the materials concretely in the comfort of their own home, supporting their mathematical, scientific, fine-motor, creative, social/emotional intelligence.
