We are a Title One school in Jacksonville, FL that is also an ESOL magnet for Speakers of Other Languages. These students have to meet their reading requirement to get their diploma after one year of being in the country. They have been very engaged by Vocabulary.com (a year's subscription of which would be funded with my project). This program has been helping them with root words and they've already seen improvement in their word recognition! It's not only our ESOL population that has seen improvement, many of our emerging readers (in the twefth grade) have expanded their vocabulary and word recognition in just a few weeks!
