Can you imagine taking middle school music into a Google Doc? Google Chrome and Google Classroom has been a lifesaver in this virtual instruction world, but music and Google Meets don’t go very far. My students have Chromebooks, and I have a Chromebook. My hope is to get a MacBook Air so that I can take individual recordings of student performances and merge them into more of a band type experience. I hope to transform movies of their individual solos into a recital movie for families to share. I will also create backing tracks for them to practice to. There is so much more I could do musically and creatively with a Mac than I currently can do with my school issued Chromebook.
