Students want to take charge of their learning in the music studio. In class, students are given daily time to choose what they want to create. They can choose to work in different areas of the room depending on what materials they want to use. They can choose from listnening, performing, composing, dancing, and critiquing using a wide range of Edtech. Throughout the year I introduce skills and techniques for them to use in these mediums and allow the students to make their own decisions in their creations. We love to collaborate and share our work through SeeSaw and Google Classroom. Chromebooks would allow my students to work at their own pace and develop their artistic skills in a flexible way. Having Chromebooks in my room will let my students work in their digital portfolios to practice a technique they've learned the way they choose. When my students are given choice, their creativity skyrockets, and having Chromebooks will help foster this.
