Throughout this year I have been teaching, and my students have been learning, in an all virtual environment. There is no doubt it's been tough on both sides. The learning curve has been steep for me to keep my students actively engaged while at home with so many other distractions around them. At first, a lot of the newness of everything held their attention. But as we enter March, their attention is waning. I recently learned about Nearpod, and have been using it in class. This platform and the many engaging activities it offers has helped me regain their attention. However, the free option is limited, and even after just a few weeks, I'm running out of space. And I don't want to delete what I've created because I can definitely see how this platform can even be used post-pandemic. The students are continuing to learn and to be actively engaged, but I need help purchasing a gold account to that this engagement, this learning, can continue.
