My students are English language learners in a New York public school. Due to their disabilities, they have been placed in a self contained bilingual classroom. My students' parents, though invested in their education, are often paralyzed by their inabilities to communicate directly with service providers. These students deserve to get all they need in my classroom, and I am trying to make that happen. They are all very playful, very friendly children, who often need a lot of attention and love because of their home situations. My students are very bright children, all of whom function properly at math but can not excel at similar levels in literacy. These kids deserve to experience the joy that is reading.
