Providing the students in my classroom with flexible seating will make students feel empowered because they can choose where they can sit and with whom. Also, in the case of wiggling students, allowing them to sit in seats where they can move will give them the opportunity to focus more and the teacher will spend less time asking them to sit, which will avoid losing valuable instructional time. Another reason my students should get flexible seating is because young children need to move and flexible seating will allow them to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand and these things increase oxygen flow to the brain and help children to be more alert and focused. Finally, giving pupils the option where they want to sit will make them feel more comfortable and happier at school because students love having choices. This is very important because research has demonstrated that students who have a positive attitude about school do better at school.
