It is my dream to provide enough instruments to allow every 5th grade student to participate in band. As it stands, less than 25% of students are able to join due to a lack of instruments available. Most parents are unable to purchase or rent instruments for their children due to financial hardship. My district serves a population with over 90% below the poverty line. If my project is chosen, I will use the funding to purchase new flutes, clarinets, trumpets, trombones, and percussion instruments. This will allow all students, regardless of financial standing, to experience to joy of band!
