I have always been confused as to why the lecturing happens at school and then the students are sent home to try examples on their own for homework, that seems backwards! My students would benefit from being able to spend class time getting individual attention from me, working in groups with their peers and getting hands on experiences while at school instead of the majority of class time being spent on the introduction and explanation of new material. This iPad will allow me to make quick videos, that will pair with guided notes, for my students to watch at home for homework and enter the class with some knowledge of the lesson. This will allow students the chance to digest the material and formulate questions in their own time. I also hope this will increase students math confidence because they will not feel the pressure to know the answer immediately around their peers. This style of learning will also prepare them for their college classes, since many are moving towards a hybrid approach.
