Given my students' backgrounds, they often have limited experience with speaking in front of groups of people. This project will assist with giving my students the opportunity to create and present multimedia presentations. This is a requirement for most future careers and something that needs to be practiced while the students are in school. My English Language Learner students will have the opportunity to practice their speaking skills and build upon their language acquisition in the classroom. My students will special needs will benefit as well from the opportunity to work on their goals and objectives in a meaningful and real-world situation. For instance, I am planning an upcoming unit about the Legislative Branch. Each student will have the opportunity to present a bill that they believe should be a law, the same way that our Congressmen and Senators do. The students will create multimedia presentations for their bill and then use this technology to present them to the class. This not only will give them the opportunity to use the technology but also experience what is like to be an important member of our government. Please help me give this amazing opportunity to my students!
