I have taught 3rd grade fro 5 years now and it has become increasingly clear that this is an important age for children to dive deep into reading. Sometimes the best way to access that is with their teacher and peers. Having sets of each of these texts will help me to teach deep comprehension concepts like inference and character traits and motivation. Sometimes in 3rd grade kids get stuck in the basics of comprehension, this would allow them to dive deep into a book with their peers. These experiences can shape how they look at reading for a lifetime, as well as their overall confidence in reading. Help me give kids a love and confidence in reading.
