To provide a valuable lab experience, we need quality equipment. Having the right tools facilitates a meaningful lab experience. Learning how to measure precisely is a skill many students don't have. Often lab procedures call for small quantities of reactants for a chemical reaction. And occasionally, small quantities of products are formed. When studying the effects of concentration on reaction rates, or determining the amount of silver obtained from a reaction between copper and silver nitrate, reagents need to be measured to the nearest 100th of a gram. With these scales, students are capable of obtaining results that are accurate and precise. Having these balances would allow us to do these and other experiments.
