As part of our daily time together, my students get to work in math centers. Their favorite center is technology where they get to work on math programs such as Dreambox, Xtramath, and Class Hero. When my students are on these math programs, they are filling in gaps that they may have had since the beginning of their school career. With my class size, it is difficult to give every student the individual amount of time they need to be successful daily. Currently, for my average class size of 20, I have 6 computers that work correctly. They do get the time they need by the end of the week, but how many gaps could be filled if they get double that time? Triple? Even though I do teach math most of the time, they could also benefit my students with reading. There are so many great reading apps out there that I can't wait to let my students try! With the dynamics of my classroom, I could see iPads being a big addition to their success!
