This project will be used to diversify their exposure to literature by allowing them to see themselves. Writing about youth of color is an act of resistance because it challenges the stereotypical beliefs about the normative aspects in the feelings of young adults and presents the culture of the other as more than subjects for fetishization. Even more so, youth of color will see that the stories of their lives, cultures, and ethnicities are worthy of telling, even if it is written around the cliched things such as love, because the reason some themes become cliched is because they are no longer Othered when they become a part of the common and everyday experience.
