My school is a high need school. We have approximately 60% of students who receive free and reduced lunch, as well as many students in dire financial stress. Our entire school is lacking in technology, especially when you compare it to other elementary schools. We have computers and our school has a total of 7 Smart Boards. My classroom is located away from the building in a mobile unit, therefore; I am unable to have the technology such as the Smart Board for my students to use. With our state and local budget cuts, which equal close to $100,000,000, I don't anticipate my school system entertaining the idea of iPad accessories in the near future. My students range in age from kindergarten to fifth grade and have various disabilities. I work in an inclusion setting within the general setting, as well as, small group intensive "pull out" setting. My students don't have access to the technology that will prepare them for the 21st century.
