Reading is a crucial part of the third grade. There are so many reading and writing standards that we cover over the school year, and what better way to get kids to read than to put a great choice of books in their hands? Many of my students are not encouraged to read at home, but I have the opportunity to encourage it daily. My goal is to put as many books as possible into the hands of my students. I believe that the more opportunities and choices they have available, the easier it will be for them to find that "just right book." This will also give them more of a chance to find what books interest them.
