In this project, I am requesting two tables to replace individual student desks. The benefit to having tables as opposed to desks is that they take up less room than individual desks do. Throughout my lessons, we write on our desks for math problems and writing sentences. We need a lighter color for the table top like I am requesting, so students can easily see the work. When I move my room around for classroom transformation days, it is easier to set up my room in a way that makes the classroom environment creative, engaging and memorable. Using these tables will help students be able to collaborate with their peers as I teach them not only academics but social skills. We integrate the arts through song writing and performing music videos, so being close together throughout the writing process allows the students to communicate more effectively. Any partnership you can offer to my students would be much appreciated.
