Following a textbook often makes language learning seem static and isolated. By using the virtual technology provided by Google Cardboard, students will be able to access the art and architecture of other cities around the world. A class set of Google Cardboard will make culture come alive for my students. It will grant them entrance to the most famous museums in Spain and Latin America, allow students to view the architecture on the main boulevards in these countries, and let them compare artists, themes, and landscapes without having to leave the classroom! There is a shift happening in World Language classrooms in which language is learned through the arts, science and technology rather than by learning the mechanics of the language itself.
