As a class we will read the literature book and discuss the theme, character traits, and diversity that is portrayed in them. Students will fill out graphic organizers to help them figure out the themes and character traits. As a class they will vote on which theme the book represents. The students will debate which character trait is the strongest and post their work in the classroom. Students will be able to compare and contrast books and write an essay about what they learned. Student work will be saved in their portfolio and then they will receive it at the end of the year.
