As I am building my classroom library, I want to include books on every topic imaginable, because you never know what topic will draw a reluctant reader in and turn them into an avid reader! The Who Is series provides books on topics that interest high schools, but are accessible to my students with special needs. Especially for students with disabilities, who are multiple grade levels behind, finding books on topics of interest but that are at an accessible reading level is extremely difficult and prevents them from learning to power of the written word. I want to provide them an opportunity to see how interesting reading can be!
