Through this donation, our classroom library will grow not only with the number of books that the children will be able to choose from, but also by level, interest, and diversity. I'm excited to be able to offer my second graders the opportunity to learn and grow in specific areas that they are interested in and that will challenge them appropriately. Many of the selected books fit directly with our curriculum in working and learning about community helpers, plant life, and diverse families and communities. My students will be able to extend their learning through reading by focusing on areas that they are specifically interested in.
