Many of the students in my classroom are avid readers. They look to books to learn about the world and themselves. However, some students are striving readers. Having high quality early chapter books with characters that look like them will provide the excitement and self confidence to persevere. Soon they will be saying, "That's just like me!" And, "I finished my book and need another one!" I can't wait for these young readers to take off on the reading journey. Reading about experiences of others from across the country and around the world will build empathy and an excitement to learn more. We will be inspired by heroes from the past and characters that look just like us.

About my class
