One of the biggest goals in first grade is learning to read. The best way to achieve this goal is to provide students with authentic literature on their own reading level. Our classroom is rich with opportunities for students to engage in authentic literature and books on their own reading level. Now I want to provide them to opportunity to take home these titles. Students need access to literature in all aspects of their life. The titles chosen for this project will given the students a chance to take home books on their own reading level and authentic literature. Students will borrow books from a classroom lending library. They will put them in a large ziploc or "book bag". When they need a new book, they will be able to exchange it for a new one.
