Students will be using these books both at home and at school, as a handful of students have remained remote after our full return to in-person learning. We will be reading this book as a class. Our primary focus will be to do an in-depth character study of the kids who are trying to escape from the library! Specifically, we will analyze the way the characters interact with each other and using their experiences for opportunities to discuss certain social-emotional skills along the way. Most importantly, these books will grant my students the freedom from their screens that they have been begging for ever since returning to school! I wanted both students at home and in school to be able to get some time away from their Chromebooks and just enjoy an old fashioned book. Having a full class set will allow each student to not have to share books so we won't have to worry about sanitizing or "quarantining" books!
